These are Grant Awards which don't have to be paid back. 

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), New York's largest grant program, helps eligible New York residents attending in-state postsecondary institutions pay for tuition. TAP grants are based on the applicant’s and his or her family’s New York State net taxable income

Part-Time TAP helps eligible New York residents attending in-state postsecondary institutions on a part-time basis pay for tuition

Federal Pell Grants are given to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor's or a professional degree. Pell Grants are awarded based on financial need as demonstrated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FSEOG is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need; students who receive Federal Pell Grants have priority. FSEOGs are awarded by a college's financial aid office based on information in the FAFSA.

The federal Academic Competitiveness Grant and National SMART Grant Programs provide funding for qualified undergraduate students majoring in mathematics, science, technology, engineering or a critical foreign language.

TEACH Grant
The ACG applies in the first and second years of college and the SMART applies in the third and fourth years.
The TEACH Grant program provides grants to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

The Aid for Part Time Study (APTS) program provides grant assistance for eligible part-time students enrolled in approved undergraduate studies.

NYS Educational Opportunity Program
The Educational Opportunity Program provides assistance to NYS residents who are academically and financially disadvantaged, according to state guidelines. Learn more by visiting the Opportunity Program admissions office at your college of choice.



Student Leaders Scholarship US/UK

Eligibility:

  • Currently be a junior or senior in high school (U.S. Markets)
  • Be able to participate in a week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC
  • Be able to participate in an 8-week paid internship at a local nonprofit/charitable organization
  • Be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (U.S. Markets)
  • Be a student in good standing at his/her school

Best Buy. Good Grades Outstanding Community Service

Eligibility:

  • be a graduating high school senior living in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  • live within 75 miles of a Best Buy Store in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  • have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent).
  • demonstrate commitment to and involvement in volunteer community service or work experience.
  • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico no later than fall 2008.

Boettcher Foundation Scholarship Program

Eligibility:

  • Rank in the top 5% of their graduating class or the top 2 students in classes under 40
  • Score 1200 or higher on the SAT reading and math sections combined - or - 27 or higher on the ACT
  • Colorado Resident
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • High School Senior 2009 Grads for Colorado Students only. November 1st 2009 deadline
All forms and materials must be postmarked or electronically time-stamped no later than 11:59 p.m. on November 1 of the applicant's senior year.

CORE Philly Scholarship Program.

Eligibility :

  • Philadelphia students only
    Seniors Application June 1st 2008 deadline
  • Be a Philadelphia resident graduating high school in 2008 from
  • a Philadelphia public or charter high school (proof of residency is not necessary) or
  • a parochial or private high school and be a Philadelphia resident (the applicant and one parent will need to to provide one item from the proof of residency click here)
  • Have a working email account (CORE Philly communicates primarily by email.)
  • Complete a 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Apply to one of the CORE Philly affiliated colleges or universities

Dell Scholars Program

Eligibility :

  • Graduating from an accredited high school this academic year
  • Earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA

  • Planning to enter a bachelor's degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school.

WOMEN IN AVIATION (WIA), INTERNATIONAL: A $500 scholarship awarded to students pursuing any type of aviation oriented career.
 
WOMEN MILITARY AVIATORS, INCORPORATED: A $2500 Lt. Kara Hultgreen Memorial Scholarship based upon applicants qualifications.
 
AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION (ALPA): A  $12500 scholarship with $300 given annually for four years of collage.
 
ALPHA ETA RHO AVIATION FRATERNITY:  A $500 scholarship for active members of Alpha Eta Rho.
 
INTERNATIONAL AVIATION CAREER SCHOLARSHIP: $1200 awarded to a female pilot with commercial license and at least 250 hours who is pursuing a career as an airline pilot.
